With the relocation of West Ham United to the Olympic stadium, the existing ground was acquired by Galliard Homes in 2014, and we were briefed to provide visuals for the proposed redevelopment of the site. We were required to show how the space could be utilised as a public area, but crucially we were asked not to show any specific built form around the site due to planning sensitivity. At the same time it was important that we indicated in the visuals that some form of construction would be happening, so the challenge was to convey this in a discreet manner. With the added pressure of an extremely tight deadline, we needed all our experience to make it happen!
The final visual presents a stylised vision of what’s planned, and leaves just enough for the imagination.
